Blog Post 4-Lilla
If Victoria was part of a high-school clique she would probably be pretty cool. Probably would do some sports, but most the time she doesn't care what the "popular" kids say about her or think about her. She probably would turn in all her work in time, or at least try if she's with her mom. Although, if she went to school in New York with her dad probably not. The reason for this is because it's bigger, and she also would be stressed out and worried about her dad.

What I would say to my character
I would say "What are you thinking taking that baby all over the place." "Stop running just give the baby to his mom and get it over with." "I know you love that baby but so does the mom and you need to get back to your family too." If I were you I would not want to give that child up either but, he isn't your child to take care of and to look after. By the way why did you take the child."
I would say this because I would the same thing and try to take care of the baby but when the police and his mother was looking for him I would give him back. I know how she feels by leaving the child to a mom that loves but beats her child. It is the right thing to do and leave the child with his right full mother.

What would you say to your main character right now
If i had the chance to talk to my main character right now i would say Vitoria you're doing the right thing by turning him in and keeping your promise . I would say that because i think she's doing the right thing and i would do the same thing if i was her. When i said you kept your promise because in the book when she was on the bus and she was about to turn in Will's she said she will keep fighting for him and she will always love him and would never forget about him. I honestly feel like she's doing the right thing and i think it's real stupid how Jake want's her to get in trouble real bad like his heart is iching and want her to get in a lot of trouble but she's real not in trouble she just has to go to a Juvenile offender . Her dad is really mad at her and it talks about how Vitoria wants to tell her she's sorry for putting him in a lot of trouble. So that's what i honestly think about vitoria and what i would say to her if i could talk to her right now.
what would you say to the character
I would tell victoria to relax and tell her that she needs to tell her parents that she was wondering if she should even come home or maybe she could just tell her mom and dad that she cant i would honestly tell her that she was being rude and selfish to her parents and then she should be a nice person and come home like a responsible adult. i would say this because she needs someone else's opinion and it would help her make a good decision.
she should be a smarter person when it comes to that because who doesn't know what kidnapping is especially when you are almost 16yrs old and that would be crazy i don't know i guess she wasn't very bright about that subject and i would probably get her some help and she needs some guidance and she needs some life skills and you know a little hand to take her through things in life and maybe she could have a little help with becoming a teenager by her mom or grandma and people that cares about her through her life.

talk with Victoria
I would tell Victoria all the pain she could have put the family in.But i will also tell her where her heart is at trying to help wills and all the danger he could be in if wills get sent back with the wrong people. So she in a great place but she also is now a kidnapper because she took wills without permission.SO i would tell her all the danger shes doing to her self and putting all the extra stress on her making sure wills is okay.
I will also talk to her about her future and how she could be messing that up she could just go back and give wills to his the lady so neither one of them would get hurt by Jake. she should also show the police the money and tell them everything that happened from the time she got on the plain ti the times she got off the got back to the train.she needs to stop even though she really not doing anything bad because shes taking care of him and caring for him but she should stop so her or wills doesn't get her hurt by jake and before she hands wills over they should get a DNA test to prove him wrong and show every phone call textb message and everything else Jake has said to Victoria.

I would say to her give the child back so he can go to him mom even though the mom hits him then i think u are going to get caught just give him to the police and u wont get in that much trouble or give to his aunt or the mom but what ever u do do not give to Jack he will kill you and him if u dont have the money i think u should go to the police and give them wills and the money and turn jack in and then you wont get in that much trouble
Is Victoria On the Weaker or Stronger Side? --Caitlin Eivins
I would rate Victoria on the stronger side. I would put her on the stronger side because she definitely would stand up or put herself out there for anyone even if she could possibly get in trouble. An example of her doing that is when she took the little boy a.k.a. William a.k.a. Wills. She put herself at risk for getting in trouble by taking the little boy farther away from where they both were supposed to be. All of my lit circle members agree that Victoria is on the stronger side because she is definitely a reliable person and she would definitely be a person I would count on to take care of someone.
I think that Victoria will stay on the stronger side rather than the weaker side because she will hold her own against the police, Jake, and her dad. But, she could probably end up taking the little boy back to his rightful owner. On the other hand, she did see what was happening to the little boy and she might see if she could permanently take care of him in order for him to grow up on the better side of things. I also think that she could go to the weaker side because she knows that she will end up having to give Wills back to Jake or "The Hand." Although, she also knows that her dad is going to be a bit mad at her for going farther away without telling him and she might just go farther.
How Strong Is Victoria
In my opinion Victoria is pretty strong. She made the choice to take Wills on her own, and this was at the beginning of the story. She has a her moments with Wills when she wasn't as strong as she usually is. She does end up having an emotional breakdown towards the end of the book. But at the very last second she pulls through and gets her strength back. I put Victoria on the stronger side of the strong and weak scale because even though she has her moments she does get stronger right after it.
Blog Post #4- Strongest to Weakest
Victoria is our main character. I ranked her towards the top for strongest. She might just seem like a normal girl, but she's not, she kidnapped a baby! Which takes some strength, courage, bravery, and doesn't that mean you're strong? She also did this and kept Wills healthy during the time of her mom and dad's divorce, and on her way to her dads.
I like the saying "All superheros don't wear capes." This fits this story perfect because she saves Wills from abuse. She is a great person and tries to stay strong during her parents divorce, but that's hard. So, that's why she isn't the VERY strongest, but she is strong!

The Author of my book "Jump The Cracks" is Stacy Dekeyser. Stacy has written 4 other books. Some of her books are called The Brixen witch, The Wampanoagi etc. I think Stacy wrote "Jump The Cracks" to entertain the reader. Also, i think she wrote this book to inform the reader not to runaway with kids you don't know but it okay to help them.
About The Author - Madison
The author of Jump The Cracks is Stacy DeKeyser. Some books she has written in the past is One Witch at Time, The Brixen Witch, Sacagawea, and The Wampanoag. I think she wrote Jump The Cracks because she wanted people to know that if you see a baby getting hurt and you help it, thats ok, but you cant just run away with it. Another reason I think she wrote this book is because she wanted people to know that kidnapping isn't ok to do.
What I Would Say to Victoria- Lilla
In Jump The Cracks Victoria is the main character. Victoria is that type of girl that would probably be my best friend. She would call me because she didn't know what to do with the baby. I would go and we would be kidnappers, we would go to prison forever!!!! But, I would honestly say to her "Oh my gosh." I then wouldn't believe her. After I would believe her and say calm down and I would help her and say she is like the most awesome person in the world! And that's what I would say to her!
What I would tell Victoria....
If I could say something to Victoria, I would say that she is an awesome person for what she did. She took Little guy or "William" from his dysfunctional family. I would say this because the little boy looks up to her and trusts her now because she took him from his mom who abandoned him in a train bathroom. She is William's hero! I think that if William could talk he would say the same thing!
I would also say that she should probably take him back to the police station. I would say this because the little boy isn't related to her at all. The little boy doesn't belong to her, and probably never will be! She should probably take him back because even though his family is a little dysfunctional it's still his family. His family obviously cares about him because they called 911 for a kidnapping involving him as the kid.

Victoria's Problems
Victoria is struggling with knowing what to do with the kid. In the story she has been taking care of this little boy that the mother left on a train. She is just going farther and farther away from the problem which is her parents being mad at her. I think while trying to solve her problem will make it worse because she is going farther and farther away. This is just going to put herself in a lot of stress because she is taking care of this kid. I think this is going to happen because she is going to put a lot of stress on her and she will get anxiety. This will make her go crazy.
Blog Post #2 Victoria
My character Victoria is struggling is to not get found cot with Wills , because she took him without permission and it's basically kidnapping . I would say Victoria is facing Man Vs. Society . An event that complicated my conflict is when she found wills in the Restrooms only by himself at the Train place. Another thing is when Victoria was trying to tell the Train conduter person that she thinks wills is getting abused by hes mother , she said that because she say him getting hit and yelled at . But he didn't believe it and so he said just leave them alone .In my opinion i think my character is going to solve the conflict and somebody is going to report and see her and Wills since he was for a amber alert . She might be causing more harm for her family and Wills mom.
victoria is in a bad situation because she is trying to hide little guy and the major conflict is man vs society and the reason why is because she has to get the little guy away from anyone who wants to hurt little guy and the events that victoria is having complicated is she has to hide him or keep him safe. I do not know because she is trying to hide him and keep him safe from really bad people and his mo so maybe it could get physical I dont know yet but I cant wait to finish the book.
she took a kid and she is taking care of the kid and she also talks to her dad she is going to alot of trouble just to go to her dad and she is also caring about the kid to much that i think she is not going to give the kid back just because the way she is taking him everywhere she has the kid that she is taking care of and she does not even know what to do at all i think she is also going to take the kid to the police i think that she is going to solve her problem but in a weird way i think she is not going to give jake that money
Victoria's Main Conflict - Madison
Victoria's main conflict in the story is taking care of William. Shes struggling with taking care of William because she doesn't know how to take care of a kid and William isn't her kid. Since the police, her dad, and Williams parents want her to give him back, that has caused Victoria to go on different trains to get further away from them. I think that Victoria will give William back after everything is figured out with the police and Williams parents. I think that Victoria will still get in even more trouble since she keeps getting on different trains. The type of conflict is man vs man.
Main conflict- Maurianna Carson
What are your characters struggling with? Victoria is struggling with wills and her dad
she is also struggling with her dad listening to her. Some invents that have have made her struggles worst are the police because someone reported wills a missing child. Her dad also told the police so she has to get back and tell them what happened.Yes i think she will solve the conflict soon but i thunk a little more harm will be caused soon due to she doesnt want to give wills back are flake out on him like her dad did to her.

Main Conflict -- Adrianna P.
I think that the main conflict of Jump The Cracks is that the little boys mom left him alone in the train station bathroom. "What are the characters struggling with in your story?" Victoria is struggling with taking care of the little boy. The little boy is struggling with trying to understand why he is with Victoria instead of his real family. THe little boys mom is struggling with her sons dad and money.
Main Conflict: Jump The Cracks
WARNING: IF YOU HAVEN'T READ TO PAGE 52 THEN DON'T READ FURTHER! The main conflict is when Victoria is watching this little boy a couple of rows in front of her basically living on this train. The little boy's mom wasn't that nice to him and was kind of suspicious. Then, when the mom, also referred to as "The Hand," takes the little boy into the train's bathroom and leaves alone, Victoria goes into the bathroom only to see that the little boy was still there all by himself. Victoria takes the little boy and and basically starts taking care of him. She started taking care of him because she doesn't like the way this little boy has been growing up. I am predicting that the conflict will be solved because the little boy's mom will probably want her son back probably later sooner than later.
Conflict Post- Lilla
Jump the Cracks has a very obvious conflict. There is a abusive mother trying to get this person their money, but she brought her baby. She left her baby in the bathroom on the train. When Victoria sees this she goes and gets him. She was just trying to help. Later they say that she kidnapped the baby, Wills. More conflict that made this worse was the mom didn't know where the money was, so they got Victoria's number and called her for the money. But, she doesn't have it, therefore they say Victoria kidnapped this baby that was being abused and didn't even have a name. I think that Victoria just wants to do the right thing.
I think the main conflict is Man vs. Society, but it's a little bit of Man vs. Man and even Man vs. Self. It's Man vs. Society because she is on the run from her dad, mom, police, and more. It's Man vs. Man because she is having family problems with her dad personally. And finally Man vs. Self because she is trying to think about what do to, one part of her wants to do the right thing, but she doesn't know what the right thing is.

Jump the cracks
Their action tells us about who she is and she is generous and caring because she used the money on the kid and she is also taking care of him. We have learned she likes are peace and quiet because she really wanted the kid to be quiet on the train. Also her dislikes are like watching the little boy get abused and hit. I like my main charter because i think she doing a good thing by taking` the kid and taking care of him.

What I think of Victoria
Victoria is a teenage girl that is going to visit her dad. When she is on the train her actions tell me that she is a loving and caring person. Victoria likes to read gossip magazines and butts in to peoples business. When she is on the train she listens to peoples conversations. I like and dislike Victoria because she does butt into peoples business and listens to their conversations. I like her because she is a caring person and is watching William to see if "The Hand" was going to hurt him. Overall I do like Victoria because of what she is doing for William.
Main Character
My main character is Victoria. She is a loving and caring person. In the book Victoria was going to her dads in train since her mother and father are not living together ( Divorced ). She sees this little boy get abused by hes mother on the train . So i think one of her dislikes is she doesn't like it when kids or anyone get abused . I think Victoria is going thru a ruff time since her parents are not together . She worries about others safety.I like my main character because she has a good heart. She makes sure people are okay and safe and she is a good person that sometimes have a attitude problem and talking back to her mom , but she"s 16 i can't blame her .
Victoria(main character)
The main character Victoria has a dad where her dad makes her upset because he is not there when she needs her. The mom said i am sorry that your dad did not show up and she was so disappointed. and then later in the book the girl came across a little boy and the little boy was crying because he was being abused by his mom. and was like beaten up by his mom. The little boy had tears down his face and then victoria had an idea and decided to take care of this baby. Victoria felt bad for the baby and was very upset and she had flash backs from when she was a baby. something I didn't add was that they were on a train because victoria needed to see her dad instead she was let down again.
My Opinion On Victoria (Main Character)
I think that Victoria is a really nice and caring person. I say this because when she is on a train to go to New York, there was a mom being rude to her kid and was slapping him. When the mom went into the bathroom with her kid, and came out alone, Victoria got curious and went into the bathroom to find the little boy playing with paper towels by himself. Since the mom got off the train after she abandoned her little kid, Victoria wasn't gonna leave the little boy alone, so she brought him off the train with her. I like Victoria because she is taking care of the little boy even though she barely knows him, and its not her responsibility. What do you think about Victoria?
What I Think About Victoria (The Main Character)
The main character in the book, "Jump the Cracks" is Victoria. I like Victoria because she puts herself out there for this little boy who she barely knows. That shows that she is caring enough to take this little boy under her wing. In the book, Victoria goes all the way to New York just to be with her dad for a month. The fact is that she loves her family enough to travel by herself to be with her dad in a completely different state.
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ TO CHAPTER 4 THEN STOP HERE! In the story, Victoria sees this little boy in the train's bathroom after he is abandoned by his mother and she takes this little boy with her wherever she goes. Victoria is caring, loving, sassy, and is willing to do anything for this little boy or probably anyone. I really like the main character (Victoria) because of all of those characteristics that she truly shows well throughout the first part of the book. What do you think about Victoria?

Introductions
Hi, I'm Adrianna, I like to read mystery, horror and sometimes romance novels. I was interested in the book "Jump the Cracks" because I like reading stories with dark and sad stories within them.
Hello from the other side, I'm Lilla. I like to read books that are also kind of sad and make you think about something. Some of my favorites are The Boy Who Loved Clowns, Holocaust books, and I like this one! I am interested in "Jump the Cracks" because it had a story that I could relate to, it's also really drags you into it!
Hi, I'm Caitlin, I like to read mystery, sport-like, and sometimes sad books (but not too sad). I was interested in the book "Jump the Cracks" because the back of the book really pulled me in and I like to read those kind of books that do that.

My Opinion On Victoria
So far I like Victoria. *WARNING DON'T READ UNLESS YOU HAVE READ UP TO PAGE 115* I thought it was pretty brave of her to little Danny, who she ended up calling him William or Wills. Wills/Danny does get fussy a lot so Victoria sings to him to calm him down. You are my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skys a grey. Victoria was on a train when she saw Wills/Danny. His father found a magazine that Victoria wrote her number repeatadly so she can memeorize her number. Wills/Danny's father Jake threatened Victoria to give him his money that Wills/Danny's mom put in Victoria's bag or he would drown Wills/Danny in the river. I like Victoria because she's sassy and is willing to stand up for something even though it's going to get her in trouble.
Jump The Cracks #1- Lilla
Victoria is the main character. She is 15 years old. I really like her. She has a very strong personality. She stands up on what she believes in. She also is very caring and wants to help everyone, including the little boy even though his mom is scary. Victoria has a lot of anger and sadness. She is mad about her mom and dad's divorce and what it lead to. Her father is always late to something or never there. She thinks that he has forgotten or doesn't care about her.
Victoria wants to mind her own business, but feels like she needs to help them. She wants to have her own space and be quiet and relaxed based on her actions. Also at the same time she wants everyone to be happy. So, to do this she has an attitude and be's strong and a rebel. She seems pretty responsible, she has money and a debit card and she haven't used it, yet. I also like how she pretty much stole a little boy to save him! I like her a lot and the more I read the better it gets!

Welcome!
Welcome to your Literature Circle's blog! You will be using this space to discuss and share your ideas with other Bode students reading your chosen book. Before we get started, here's a refresher on how we use our blogs at Bode!
When Posting...
- Reread your post for mistakes before you post it!
- Don't bother other peoples' posts! You are sharing this space. Don't open a post unless you are its author.
- Focus on your responses-- not fancy fonts, not cutesy pictures, not making people laugh. This is a space for you to dig into and discuss the text!
- Use images if you want, but don't use them if they are distracting. Any posts with distracting visuals will lose points when graded-- only use meaningful pictures.
- Don't spoil the book for anyone!
When responding...
- Don't be a jerk when you reply to a blog post. Correcting spelling and grammar is ALWAYS off-limits-- that's not your job! Your response should be positive and supportive of your peer's writing. If you don't agree with what they are posting, that's fine! Just make sure that when you express your opinion, you do it in a way that isn't mean or insulting. Your goal is to add to a conversation-- not to shut one down. Remember! If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!
- If something isn't clear or is left untouched in the original post, ask away! Comments are a great way to suggest new blog posts or to begin a conversation.
- Don't just say "I agree" and move on-- dig into the text! Use what you already know to spark a discussion!
- Don't spoil the book for anyone!
